Statement of intent

itv This organisations goal is to proactively develop and implement standards which ensures the health and safety of our workforce and those our operations may effect at work and in the environment which we operate and third parties work and live.

The Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 imposes a legal and statutory duty on an employer to secure, so far as is reasonably practical, the health, safety and welfare of people at work. This duty extends to employees and others who are involved in the activities of work and in particular represent our organisation whilst striving to achieve its goal.

We encourage a culture that recognises that Health and Safety is paramount to the successful running of the organisation and not an optional extra. This organisation requires all employees and other individuals working on its behalf to adopt a proactive approach to health and safety to help the company fulfil its duties and continually improve its health and safety performance.

This organisation will observe and implement its moral and legal duty to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the Health, Safety and Welfare of all its employees and those affected by its operations. The Managing Director is ultimately accountable for health and safety whilst the Directors also take collective responsibility and accountability for health and safety. Whilst accountability rests here, health and safety is also the responsibility of every employee and others who are involved in the activities of this organisation.

This organisation is committed to ensuring through the implementation of safe operating systems of work and defined roles and responsibilities, the fulfilment of its duties under Health and Safety legislation to ensure so far as is reasonably practicable: Safe and healthy working conditions and safe operating systems of work. Effective prevention of accidents and work related ill health. Hazards and risks are identified, managed, adequately assessed and controlled to prevent injury or loss. Provisions and maintenance of safe plant, machinery, equipment and appliances are maintained. All employees are provided with such information, instruction, training and equipment as is necessary to carry out their work.

Health and safety issues and risk controls are communicated at all levels. The work environment is assessed to be safe, without risks to the health and safety of employees and others and that adequate welfare facilities are provided. Safety performance is tracked and recorded, including incident reporting and investigation. Activities are audited, monitored and reviewed to maintain agreed safety standards. Feedback and consultation with employees and other interested parties is used to monitor and identify trends, and continually improve health and safety performance. This Policy Statement and all related health and safety information is communicated to employees and interested parties.

Health, safety and wellbeing of contractors, employees and the public is considered. This organisation will use all practicable means to ensure that everyone working on its behalf complies with the provisions of the policy and associated Health and Safety legislation
